Having left school in the mid 80's after winning a prestigious Royal Air Force Officer Scholarship and a Flying Scholarship whilst still in the 6th Form, he enjoyed the pleasure of graduating as a civil pilot at 17 years old before be even learned to drive.
Andrew joined a large Newcastle law firm and entered the world of debt recovery and litigation and after 3 years moved on to become debt recovery manager at another Newcastle law firm for the next 3 years. In both roles Andrew worked on the implementation of a UNIX based debt recovery software system and acted as system administrator.
Having then managed a local government department Andrew returned to the credit industry managing his own firm of collectors, specialising in the SME sector. During this time he took the bold step of deciding to designing and specifying a case management solution as he was unimpressed with the applications available on the market. Andrew engaged a software developer to work with his firm in the design and commissioning of his own in-house practice management tool to automate his business processes he successfully automated his entire practice and increased turnover by 300% without staff additions. His love affair with legal technology automation had begun.
In January 2000, Andrew joined top 100 law firm Ward Hadaway to lead their Collection Services Team. He built a team managing outsourced collections and outsourced credit management scaling the business substantially in his time with the firm and leading the charge with the implementation of advanced SQL based case management software packages. This included time recording, workflow automation, document management and assembly components.
Andrew's principal responsibilities included advising clients on debt recovery and credit control procedures including techniques and legislative changes, delivering training to clients and staff, promoting the business of the firm, managing clients and customer relations.
Andrew has become an accomplished speaker on legal technology and business automation with engagements in San Francisco, Miami, New York, Dublin and Durban. His passion for improving how legal services and business processes are delivered continues and he is helping lead the charge towards a no touch office environment for business process automation.
