IrelandWould you like to print your own money?

Well, not exactly. Sadly, that practice was outlawed across most of the world some time ago, however, you can come pretty close.

When business is tough and you’re in a dwindling market, this might seem like quite a bold proposition but there is a way. Law firms across Ireland are beginning to feel the squeeze of the contracting conveyancing market and having made hay whilst the sun shone it’s time to figure out how to continue making hay in the dark so to speak.

History has shown us that the businesses which contract during recession by reducing their spending on non essential items are the ones who come out the other side in worse shape than their competitors. Investing in improving the client experience and reducing the man power required to accomplish a particular task will yield major benefits not only during difficult times but also help maximise their advantage over the competition in good times. Like it or lump it the legal profession is becoming more difficult to make a profit in for those who aren’t ready for change.

Having worked in the legal profession in the UK and in the USA I find it incredible just how few law firms in Ireland have embraced the opportunities that technology can bring them. Properly implemented IT solutions can deliver incredible long term cost and labour savings as well as a fantastic experience for the paying customer, after all, that’s what makes them either come back or recommend your service to someone else.

It’s easy to write the perfect letter once and use IT to send it to everyone, it’s very difficult to maintain a standard of excellence when everything is prepared and produced manually, and let’s face it, the customer has an infinite choice of where to go for legal assistance so how can you afford not to stand out from the crowd?

When you have proper case management and technology deployed you will see how you can boost your profitability and productivity to unbelievable levels. We recently took a case management installation in Ireland and re-implemented. Our client can produce all the documentation required for a standard conveyance (including forms, letters and contracts) in just 8 minutes from scratch.

It’s not printing money, but it’s pretty close.
